ABOUT THE TRIP

Our Peru adventure is of moderate difficulty. It includes transfers up to 5 hours, 3 domestic flights, and travel by motorboats, boats, and train. We will also embark on 2 hikes, each lasting about 4 hours one way, with an elevation gain of around 1,000 meters above sea level. These hikes may be challenging for those prone to altitude sickness. The itinerary involves changes in climate and altitude — from nearly sea level up to 5,200 meters. Accommodation will be in twin rooms at tourist-class hotels, with hot water and Wi-Fi.

IMPORTANT: the tour program may change depending on weather conditions, the condition of the participants, and other circumstances at the discretion of the tour guide.

OUR itinerary

DAY 1-2. Capital Lima

We arrive in Lima and check into the hotel. After some rest, we go explore the Pacific Ocean coastline by bike. Then, we head to the vibrant Barranco district, famous for its old Spanish-style houses and equally striking modern graffiti.

And of course, we’ll taste the local octopus, oysters, and ceviche. Peruvian cuisine is considered among the best in the world.

We will climb to a viewpoint to admire the views of Lima and the endless ocean. Before us lie thousands of kilometers of water, all the way to Australia!

*Optional: you can take a surfing lesson (additional cost applies)

DAY 3. Ballestas Islands, Paracas, and Takama Winery

We will set out on a boat tour of the Ballestas Islands. Along the way, you will see the "Andean Candelabra" — a geoglyph etched into the sandy hillside pointing toward the Nazca Desert. The islands are home to Humboldt penguins, sea lions, and many bird species. After that, we will visit Paracas National Reserve. Our next stop is Takama Winery — the oldest winery in South America, with over 490 years of history, and considered one of the most important centers for wine and pisco production in Peru.

DAY 4. Flight over Nazca, Huacachina Oasis, and buggy riding with sandboarding

We’ll start with a flight over the mysterious Nazca Lines — giant drawings on the ground that continue to amaze scientists around the world. Next, we’ll dive into a true desert fairy tale — the Huacachina Oasis, hidden among golden dunes where palm trees reflect in a turquoise lagoon. To finish, get ready for an adrenaline-pumping buggy ride and sandboarding down the massive dunes that will make your heart race. In just one day, you’ll see Peru like no one else — from the sky, among the dunes, and in the oasis!

DAY 5. Flight to Cusco and acclimatization

Today we will fly to the city of Cusco, followed by an introduction to the city center: we’ll visit the main square, Plaza de Armas, the colonial cathedral, and the Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha) — a remarkable blend of Inca and Spanish architecture. Then, we’ll stroll through the old streets featuring Inca stonework, with stops at the local market for tasting and shopping traditional goods.

DAY 6-7. Maras Salt Terraces and Moray, the mysterious Machu Picchu

Today we will get to know the Sacred Valley of the Incas more closely. Our first stop is the village of Maras, where the ancient salt mines are located — still producing high-quality salt to this day.

Next, the town of Moray awaits you, where you will be greeted by an amazingly beautiful view of colossal concentric terraces resembling an ancient amphitheater.

The next part of our adventure takes us to the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo — a site of magical significance for the Incas, where the surrounding mountain contours hide the figures of the Condor and the deity Tunupa. You will climb up to the Temple of the Sun. Machu Picchu will greet us with its magnificent terraces, staircases, ceremonial buildings, and residential houses.

DAY 8. Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) and the Red Valley

An early departure from Cusco for a day hike to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) and the Red Valley — a route for active travelers. The transfer takes about 3 hours, after which we start hiking from an altitude of around 4,600 meters. The ascent to the viewpoint at 5,200 meters usually takes 1.5 to 2 hours. At the summit, you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the multicolored layers of mountain rock formed naturally, no filters needed. Afterwards, if desired, we’ll explore the Red Valley — a less crowded but equally stunning part of the Andes.

DAY 9. Free day in Cusco / Hiking to Humantay Lagoon

On this day, you have two options to choose from. The first is a one-day trek to Humantay Lagoon, located at an altitude of 4,200 meters. We’ll leave Cusco early in the morning (about a 3-hour drive), followed by a hike of roughly 1.5 hours. At the top, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the turquoise glacial lagoon surrounded by high mountains. This is a popular route for those wanting to experience breathtaking Andean landscapes without a multi-day trek.

The alternative option is a free day in Cusco for relaxation, independent exploration of the city, visiting local museums and cafés, or shopping at traditional markets.

DAY 10-11. Amazon — Jungle Exploration

In the morning, we fly from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado — and immediately experience a change of atmosphere: humid air, dense jungle, and the sounds of nature. We transfer to a boat and travel along the Tambopata River to our lodge in the tropics. Our first walk with a local guide introduces us to plants, birds, and animal tracks. In the evening, enjoy a night safari with flashlights: you’ll see fireflies, caimans along the shore, nocturnal monkeys, while the jungle around sounds like a living orchestra.

We will head to Lake Sandoval — one of the most beautiful lakes in the region. Canoeing among giant palms, we’ll look for otters, turtles, monkeys, and rare birds. For those interested, there’s an alternative route through the treetops via canopy bridges. After lunch, enjoy free time relaxing in hammocks or choose optional activities such as ethnobotany tours, visiting a local community, or piranha fishing.

DAY 12. Return to Lima

Flight to Lima and a free day. At the appointed time, transfer to the airport for your international departure. See you on our next adventures, friends!
