OUR itinerary
DAY 1. Arrival in Tokyo, dinner-acquaintance
We land in a city where neon signs compete with the stars. After meeting at the airport and transferring to the hotel by train (you can immediately rent a Wi-Fi router and exchange currency), we go for a dinner-get-acquainted meal. In the evening, our first steps in Tokyo: Shinjuku with its quirky bars, a panorama of the city from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, and the first feeling: “Yes, I’m in Japan!”
DAY 2. Temples, towers and sushi market
Breakfast and start to the most traditional district of Tokyo - Asakusa, where the Senso-ji Temple and the streets of Nakamise will transport us to ancient Japan. Then - a walk along the Sumida River to the Ueno district with its park, museums and the famous zoo. For lunch - Tsukiji Market with the freshest sushi. In the evening we will climb the Tokyo Skytree or Tokyo Tower to see Tokyo burning with millions of lights.
DAY 3. Trendy Tokyo and futurism
Today is a day of contrasts. Let's start with Harajuku - street fashion, themed cafes and concept stores. Then - the peaceful Meiji Shrine amidst greenery. We will visit crazy Takeshita Street and continue to Shibuya with its legendary intersection, Hachiko monument and shops from the other world. In the evening - Akihabara: the world of gamers, anime and geeks, where you can go to a cafe with robots or try a capsule machine with strange surprises.
DAY 4. Nature, relaxation and Mount Fuji
We leave the metropolis and head to Hakone or Lake Kawaguchi, depending on the season and weather. A ride on the ropeway over the sulfur valleys of Owakudani, a traditional boat on Lake Ashi, or a perfect shot with Mount Fuji in the background. We have lunch at a local restaurant with a view of nature. We check into a ryokan, put on a yukata, and relax in an onsen with an open view of the mountains.
DAY 5. Mountain tranquility and shinkansen to Kyoto
We have breakfast with incredible views, enjoy another session in the onsen or a morning walk in the forest. If desired, we visit the Poly Art Museum or the Black Pagoda of Chureito. In the afternoon, we board the legendary shinkansen and rush at cosmic speed to the cultural capital of Japan - Kyoto. An evening walk through the Gion district under the soft light of lanterns is pure magic.
DAY 6. Temples, geishas and golden pavilions
We start the day with the Golden Pavilion of Kinkaku-ji, shimmering on the water. Then — a walk through the green tunnels of the bamboo forest in Arashiyama, where you can see monkeys in Monkey Park or take a boat ride on the Hotsugawa River. We return to the center of Kyoto — a tea ceremony in a real Japanese garden, traditional sweets and an evening in Gion with a chance to see a geisha or maiko.
DAY 7. Thousands of torii and ancient streets
Today we visit one of the most famous places in Japan - the red gate of Fushimi Inari, where the path leads through the mountain, as if into a parallel world. Then - the ancient district of Higashiyama with wooden houses, workshops and the Kiyomizu-dera temple on the hill. Lunch - in a cafe with a view of the hills, and in the evening - free time: kimono fitting, souvenirs, small lanterns along the canals.
DAY 8. Deer, Buddha and the greenery of Nara
A one-day escape to Nara, a fairytale city where nature and spirituality are combined in perfect harmony. We walk through Nara Park among tame deer bowing for cookies. We visit the giant Buddha at Todaiji Temple, one of the most important in the country. Then - Kasuga Taisha Temple with hundreds of stone lanterns hidden in the forest. In the evening - return and transfer to Osaka.
DAY 9. Food, neon and the explosion of energy of Osaka
Osaka is a true Japanese soul with humor and taste! In the morning, Osaka Castle amidst a sakura park. Then, Shinsaibashi district for shopping, a snack at Kuromon seafood market, and for dinner, takoyaki straight from a street grill in Dotonbori. After sunset, Kaiyukan Space Aquarium or a walk under a million lights with laughter, taste, and selfies.
