ABOUT THE TRIP
Iceland with mate is a well-thought-out, stress-free itinerary that will take you to the country’s most impressive sights, from geysers and waterfalls to fjords, glaciers and black beaches. We’ll visit key locations in the Golden Ring, North and East Iceland, go whale watching on a boat, soak in geothermal pools and walk between tectonic plates. Everything is organized: logistics, comfort, a balance of activities and relaxation. You won’t just see Iceland – you’ll experience it without the rush and fuss.
IMPORTANT: the tour program may change depending on weather conditions, the condition of the participants, and other circumstances at the discretion of the tour guide.
OUR itinerary
DAY 1. Hello, Iceland!
After arrival, we meet at Reykjavik airport, go to the apartments and rest from the road. Then we have a get-together dinner to discuss the travel plan, meet the group and celebrate the start of the tour. This is a more organizational day without active transfers.
DAY 2. Golden Ring: Geysers, Waterfalls and Continental Divides
Today we explore the heart of Iceland. We will see the earth breathe in the Valley of Geysers, walk between two tectonic plates in Thingvellir National Park and feel the power of the mighty Gullfoss waterfall. It is a day when nature literally comes alive under your feet.
DAY 3. Snæfellsnes Peninsula: Iceland in miniature
This day is like a trailer for everything that awaits ahead: fjords, black beaches, volcanoes, basalt cliffs and wild silence. We will stop at the famous mountain Kirkjufell - one of the most Instagrammable places in the country.
DAY 4. Road to Akureyri: Northern charm
We head north through mountains, lava fields and remote valleys. Along the way, we stop for untouristy stops, wild beauty and outdoor hot springs. In the evening, we arrive in Akureyri, a cozy northern town with atmospheric cafes and fjord views.
DAY 5. Diamond Ring: Wild Iceland
This day is about volcanoes, craters and waterfalls. We will see Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe, the colorful mineral fields in Hverir, Lake Mývatn and pseudo-craters. Today the earth seems alive, and the landscapes are like from another planet.
DAY 6. East Fjords
The real journey begins where the crowds disappear. The East Fjords are steep cliffs, ocean inlets, deserted villages, wild reindeer, and a road that winds between mountains and waterfalls. It's easy to get lost in the beauty and find peace here.
DAY 7. From Höfn to Vík: glaciers, icebergs and black beaches
We will stop at the Jökulsárlón lagoon, where icebergs float in turquoise water, and at Diamond Beach, where they sparkle on black sand. We will walk near the glacier, feel its cold breath, and reach Vík - a city by the Black Ocean
DAY 8. Vik and the South Coast
We will visit the legendary waterfalls of Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss, see the black beach of Reynisfjara with basalt columns, and look at the rocky cape of Dyrhólaey. This is a day of landscapes that will remain in your memory forever.
DAY 9. Walking tour of Reykjavik and geothermal baths and home
Early departure to Reykjavik, on the way some more lava fields, mountains and sea. Today we will get to know the capital better. We will walk along the narrow streets with colorful houses, look into local shops, taste coffee with cinnamon, go to Hallgrímskirkja - the most famous church of the city, and simply enjoy the atmosphere of the small but very lively capital. After that - relaxation in geothermal baths to rest before the road home.

Where will we live and how will we get around?
We will live in apartments/hotels of this format. Accommodation for 2 people per room. Due to the long distances, we will stay in a new place every day.

FAQ

A place on the trip is reserved with a deposit of €400 (PayPal) and a photo of your international passport will also be required. After that, we will add you to the group. The remaining part of the amount must be paid no later than 21 days before the start of the trip.
Our groups consist of 4-8 people plus a guide. The average age of participants is 18-35 years. We have no age restrictions, the main thing is that you like walking.
In case of refusal/cancellation of the trip from your side, a 100% refund is possible if a replacement is found for your place at the full price. In all other cases, the cost of the trip is non-refundable.
In case of cancellation of the trip by the organizers, the deposit paid will be refunded in 100%. The refund takes up to 10 business days.
We have an age restriction of 18+ for the comfort of all participants.
